Being a Juggalo is about an unconditional love for other beings no matter what race or ethnic background you are. It’s about the music, the positive atmosphere, and the love for your Juggalo family. This documentary kind of put some of that into perspective for me, as well as hipped me to their existence. I dont even know what made me WATCH in the first place. It’s kinda hard to see the diversity of the Juggalo family in this bit, but you will see it around the middle/end of the short if you have about 25mins to watch. May peace be unto those people man. WooWOOO!
This event that went on over the weekend was a celebration of StLouis’ culture of art, music, and diversity. There was some of everything there. Live painting, sets from the internationally known group Hawthorne Headhunters, Michael Franco on the ones and twos–among others, Video Art (all thanks to @theeskipper), drinks and a real chill environment.
I definitely would suggest checking out this documentary about the earthquake/tsunami in Japan. It speaks about that event plus the culture of Japan. I rather enjoyed it. All in all it’s about 35mins long. The video above is a teaser for the actual clips.
On our last full day we wrapped up some things we needed to get done–none of which that can be spoken of here. What I will say is that where-ever we went we met really awesome people. Like we simply found it more natural to talk to complete strangers in Denver. This made the trip 2x better. The vibe is so much different from StLouis. No “weird looks” or feeling of awkwardness due to displacement. It was morally a refresh for my brother as well as myself. Simply put–every we went in Denver, we felt welcome; here at home, we don’t. This isn’t leading to me saying something negative about StLouis, because I really do love this place. I’m simply trying to say that it’s nice to know that it’s not like that everywhere. That there’s something different outside of the confines of 270.
As random as the trip sounds and was, I knew there was some non-material possession to be received or learned and I feel like it was (for myself and brother). Granted we almost didn’t make it out for a number of reasons but I also wonder if we would’ve felt like “this (Denver) was the best vacation ever” had we gone with Plan A instead. O_o
We made our way up to the Rocky Mountain State National Park. I didnt realize it but it was a 2hour drive up (slightly because I went the wrong way), it was another 2hour drive through (NO CELLPHONE SERVICE), and it was ANOTHER 2hour drive home. >_< All of this is cool but it sucks when you're doing all of this slightly hung-over. I couldnt tell if it was Altitude Sickness or what, that I had a headache until we left! The sights were amazing though. We took close to 400 pictures, unfortunately I had to dumb them down to about 8. :\ Oh well. You should visit though, there's nothing like it.
I saw a Poke’mon #inreallife.
And the Forest Spirit from Princess Mononoke (0.o)
On this day, we walked about the city… got lost several times. And hit all of the StreetWear stores that we could find. Emage on the north side of the city, a snowboarding store. Family Affair, right in the heart of the city, a SW boutique with a salon inside. 808 Boards which is also a skateboarding/snowboarding store on Colfax just blocks away from the State Capitol (they have all the awesome SB Dunks).
So we’re out here in Denver. Cant speak too much about it, but I will say our 70degrees is DEFINITELY NOT Denver’s 70degrees. >_< This place is pretty awesome though. I havent been here 24hours and already I feel welcome. There's no "weird looks" and I've spoken to a hand full of locals and out of towners... can NOT say the same for New York :\ but anywho, more to come. Ill try to keep everyone updated.
The drive out. This is Kansas City.. not.. much.. to say.. about it... O_o
Kansas windmills! ^_^V
Been through Cloudy-Rainy-Cloudy-Rainy-Sunny-Fog-Rain-Sunny-Rainy-Cloud… in that order.
